UAC stands for ‘User Account Control’. it actually the setting for your computer. Recently, vista have a really bad setting which whenever you open or installed anything, annoying prompt will pop-up. But now, for windows 7, you can modify the setting to work how you want it to. To change your setting you need to do the following instructions:
  1. Go to the Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety.
  2. Click User Accounts, then click Change User Account Control settings.
  3. From the screen that appears, use the slider to select the level of protection you want.
Now of course, you have to choose the setting you want. To know what it do just read on.
Here are the four levels and what they means:
  • Always Notify Me- This level is the classic level. It is Vista’s annoying UAC. Whenever you installed or make change to a program, a prompt appeared.
  • Default- Notify you when you make changes to a program. It mean it will not be annoying at all. Also, when you make changes, the screen goes dark like the old vista.
  • Default(No Dim Screen)- This level is actually same as default but your screen will not go dark. This also presents it can give you a risk because it could allow viscous program.
  • Never Notify- This means it will completely turned off. And this is not recommended for most users
When you finish selecting the level you want. You may need to reboot to make this effect to take place. This is a big advantage for Windows 7 users because they don't have to do complex task.
